This appliance adapter is required when connecting an appliance (water heater, boiler or furnace) with 3" tapered stainless steel vent pipe w/ gasket to 3" Innoflue SW (Single Wall) vent pipe and fittings.

Features:
  • Innoflue SW (Single Wall) is the only polymer vent system on the market listed to UL 1738
  • Accepted and approved by over 50 North Amercian manufacturers of boilers, water heaters and furnaces
  • Suitable for natural gas, propane and fuel-oil condensing and non-condensing (flue temp. below 248°F) appliances
  • All parts (pipe, fittings, etc. - both black and grey) are UV resistant and suitable for indoor or outdoor installation

What is the difference between the regular fitting and the lead free fitting? Are they both brass?

Yes, they are both brass. The difference is in the composition of the alloy:
Lead-free fittings are made from C46500 alloy brass, which has less than 0.25% lead by weight as required by the Safe Drinking Water Act (which came into effect nationwide on January 1, 2014). These fittings are therefore suitable for potable water applications.
Regular brass fittings are made from C35200 alloy, which has more than 0.25% lead by weight and is therefore not approved for potable water use, but can still be used for PEX heating applications and for non-potable water applications.
Both alloys are DZR (DeZincification Resistant) brass.
