This kit provides a simple, all-in-one solution for installation of a tankless water heater in typical, in-room combustion application. Such installation is typical for garages, basements and other areas with access of fresh air.

In-room combustion refers to the installation method, where TWH's exhaust gases must be vented through the outside wall (usually the one the unit is mounted on), while the intake (fresh air supply) is obtained from the room where the unit is installed. It is important to make sure that there's a constant supply of fresh air to the installed area, such as a window.

This Kit includes all major components for installation of a Takagi tankless water heater with horizontal venting through an outside wall (with thickness of 4-7"):
  • (1) Z-Vent Termination Hood;
  • (1) 4" Z-Vent 90° Elbow;
  • (1) 4" x 1.5ft Z-Vent pipe;
  • (1) 4" x 1ft Z-Vent pipe;
  • (1) Z-Vent Wall Thimble (4-7" adjustable);
  • (1) Takagi Flue Outlet x Z-Vent Pipe Adapter with Built-in Backflow Preventer;
Order of assembly (starting from the tankless water heater's 4" flue outlet):
  1. Appliance adapter with backflow preventer (Takagi x Z-Vent)
  2. 1.5ft pipe
  3. Elbow
  4. 1ft pipe
  5. Wall thimble
  6. Termination hood

Easy to buy, easy to install
I found this kit very convenient, because it includes everything I needed to install my new T-Kjr-NG. It was a very easy basement installation as well.

Ask a Question
Does the back flow preventer have to be installed vertically, or can it be placed horizontally to lengthen the horizontal joints going through the wall?
Helpful? Yes 2 No
The preventer should be installed vertically right over the water heaters' exhaust pipe outlet.

Is this the correct venting kit for the Takagi T-KJr2-IN-LP Indoor Tankless Water Heater, Propane? I am installing on outside wall as recommended.
Helpful? Yes No
It is the correct one if you have plentiful indoor air to supply the water heater's needs. If installing in a confined space where external air intake is required, the part # is 2SVSHTC43S.
