This is a male sweat fitting which is soldered inside the copper fitting.
If you need a fitting which goes over the copper pipe, use 644X2 female sweat adapter.

Can these be sweated into a brass shower valve? Is that a better connection than using a female threaded pex connector with teflon tape?
