Description

This PEX Cutter Tool model features an energy-saving ratchet mechanism which allows to cut larger diameters of tubing more precisely and with much less effort.

Intended for PEX tubing sizes up to 1-1/4" (1-1/2" OD). Features a sharp angle-shaped blade which firmly grips the pipe and allows for more precise tubing cuts. Also works for CPVC and other soft plastic/rubber piping.

A bit disappointed with this item, it tends to egg shape the tube before it cuts. That makes it VERY challenging to get a compression fitting over the end of the tube, the Reamer tool helps but doesn't restore it enough to put the compression fitting over the end very easily.

Brian, from your comments it seems like you're cutting PEX-AL-PEX (PAP) and not just regular PEX tubing. Yes, this cutter (as any other) will deform the pipe a little due to hardness of the aluminum layer in PAP - it is normal and the reamer tool fully corrects that. To minimize deformation, rotate the pipe or the tool itself a little - it will distribute the force more evenly and make the cut a lot smoother.
