How and when to use a PVC pipe extender fitting
Sometimes it is necessary to connect PVC pipe to a fitting which already has a piece of PVC pipe glued inside it and using a common coupling is not possible due to short length of the pipe protruding from the fitting. The PVC fitting could be hard to replace for various reasons - cost, rarity, complexity of assembly, etc.
A PVC extender fitting glues inside the remains of the PVC pipe, which itself is inside the PVC fitting, providing and easy and cost effective solution.
To install a PVC pipe extender, the piece (stub) of remaining PVC pipe must be cut flush with the PVC fitting edges and connected in the same manner as a PVC pipe and fitting would be.
