Why use Pre-Insulated Chimney Liner

  • Code-compliant and ready to install out of the box - no additional parts needed.
  • Aluminum exterior jacket protects the insulation from snagging onto chimney during the installation and ripping it or tearing away pieces - which would necessitate frustrating removal and repairs.
  • The jacket also protects the insulation from direct contact with the chimney walls and prevents moisture absorption and consequent sagging.
  • Saves time and labor - all other options (wrapping ceramic blanket or pouring vermiculite mix) are time-consuming and can be labor-intensive.
  • No messy insulation to handle or breathe.
  • Much easier than pouring vermiculite mix down chimney while simultaneously ensuring proper spacing of liner from chimney walls.
While higher initial cost can be considered a downside, the reality is that with labor and material costs added (for other methods), pre-insulated option could cost the same (or possibly even less) in the end.
