Description

Peter Mangone RB-5 Manual Clip Gun is particularly useful for staple-up projects when installing PEX between the joists and securing it to the wooden/plywood subfloor.
RB-5 PEX clip gun works in a similar manner to a paper stapler but uses plastic PEX clips with nails instead of metal staples. It does not require a power supply and can be used anywhere at any time. Simply load a strip of PEX clips into the tool, position it over the pipe and shoot the clips.
RB-5 the tool is compatible both with Stand-off and Flush Mount PEX Clips. It can hold up to 20 clips max. and comes with a detachable belt clip and user manual.

Applications:
For installation of PEX tubing in plumbing and radiant heating applications.

THe tool is great, Unfortunately the service from this company made it difficult to order the stuff I needed. They have a very POOR discriminatory shipping policy. Though they were shipping USPS Flat rate and that ships at the same price nationwide they refuse to ship to Alaska, and Hawaii yet their website states they ship worldwide. Frankly had this been available elsewhere I would have ordered it from someone else. Even attempting to ship to an address in the communist state of Washington I could not pay for it with my credit card because I have a non-communist address in Alaska or Hawaii. So for your management you are STUPID.

I don't see mention of what size staples (tubing size) it will accommodate. Can I assume the staple spacing is the same distance on 1/2" to 3/4" size clips and this stapler will work with those sizes?

RB-5 works with Peter Mangone flush mount clips (pipe pressed against the mounting surface) and stand-off clips(~1/8" clearance between mounting surface and the pipe) for PEX sizes up to 3/4".
The clip models and corresponding PEX sizes are as follows:

Flush mount:
F5OD - for 1/2" PEX (5/8" OD)
F6OD - for 5/8" PEX (3/4" OD)

Stand-off:
P3BK - for 3/8" PEX (1/2" OD)
P4BK - for 1/2" PEX (5/8" OD)
P6BK - for 3/4" PEX (7/8" OD)

The spacing of the clips depends on the pipe size and is usually 2-2.5ft for horizontal pipe runs and 3-4ft on vertical.

does this work on xps foam board?

No. It's for wood applications only. For securing PEX to foamboard, use foamboard staplers, such as #PXTFBS or #RSST.
