3/4" Male Garden Hose x 1/2" Hose Barb adapter is a fitting which connects 3/4" female garden hose outlet to a 1/2" ID (Inside Diameter) hose. Compatible with cinch (pinch) clamps or worm gear clamps (i.e. Oetiker, Ideal and other brands).

Questionable size
I don't recall the item description as containing the term 1/2" Hose Barb, thought it as simply 1/2" barb and thought it would fit 1/2" PEX. The site is PEX Universe isn't it? Don't recall seeing an another option to connect 1/2" PEX to garden hose. I tapped it into PEX but too large for 1/2" crimp ring.

A barbed fitting does not imply that is for use with PEX. Barbs simply refer to the arrowhead-like protrusions on the sides of the fitting to help it stay inside the pipe without falling out or being pushed out by the pressure. PEX fittings alone have (4) different types of barbs, not counting various shapes and sizes of metal and poly fittings for PE, PVC (vynil), garden hose and many others. 1/2" hose barb doesn't fit 1/2" PEX.
The barb is too large to fit into 1/2" PEX. In order to use, I had to heat the fitting and PEX and push hard. Because of the larger diameter, the crimp ring breaks when fully clamped. I had to crimp it tight, but not all the way, and then manually release the crimp tool ratchet.

Hose barbed fittings, including this model (GH-BA-42) is not for use with PEX tubing, but rather for flexible rubber and PVC/vinyl hose. Only PEX and push-to-connect fittings are compatible with PEX pipe.
