Grundfos Comfort Valve
My original valve lasted about 4 years. I don't know the internal mechanics of the valve, but I suppose its lifetime is dependent upon the hardness of your water.

Good price, good shipping, easy install
When we remodeled, we had one valve installed along with the pump. The valve failed after about 3.5 years. (If you didn't save the manual, the Grundfos web site has it, so you can test if you have a valve or a pump problem.) I ordered 2 valves, and I replaced the one in the master bath in about 15 minutes. I then installed a new one in our 1st floor powder room in probably 30 minutes. Just remember to keep track of what hoses go to which connections. Easy ordering and shipping from PexUniverse.com at a good price. If the product lasted longer, I'd give it a fifth star.

Grundfos Comfort Valve, 595926
Right product at the best price. These things need to be replaced periodically so price is important.

Works great
We had a failure in the original valve and locally it was going to cost $70 or more. Pex delivered the part [...] for about half of that. The valve works as advertised and I recommend Pex to anyone who needs their products. FYI, this valve dramatically shortens the time it takes to get hot water to any faucet in the house. A great money saver.

Ask a Question
Can this be used in a combination of a series and parallel (branch) system?
Helpful? Yes No
Yes, it can. The system simply recirculates the water in the hot water line to the water heater through the cold water line. To achieve maximum efficiency, all is needed is to ensure that the pump is properly located (more details on this are in the manual).
By PexUniverse Customer Service on 10/26/2020
I assume the valve opens and allows water circulation because the pump overcomes the cold water input pressure. Is that correct?
Helpful? Yes No
Actually, the pressure inside the cold and hot water lines are practically the same. This valve simply has a built-in check valve which allows to circulate the hot water through the cold water line but not the other way around.

I have the pump circulating hot water to a distant bathroom. I need another valve to do the same to the nearby kitchen. Should be no problem, right?
Helpful? Yes No
Correct.
