100 sqft, 24" x 50ft Between-Joist Reflective Bubble Insulation for Radiant Heat

24" wide x 50ft long (100 sqft total) roll or reflective double bubble insulation with staple tabs (for easier stapling to joists).
Designed for frame homes with 24" OC (on-center) joist spacing. Ideal for PEX radiant heat projects where PEX is stapled to the subfloor (with or without heat transfer plates) between the joists.
How it works: in radiant floor heat projects where PEX is stapled to the subfloor (between the floor joists) and heats the floor above, it transfers heat to the flooring above via all (3) methods - conduction (from direct contact with surface), radiation (infrared heat waves) and convection (air circulation). When uninsulated, portion of the heat emitted from the PEX pipes is lost, primarily through convection and radiaton. When joist bay is insulated, convection is maintained within the isolated air space (tanks to the air gap created by double bubble layer) and radiant heat is reflected back up towards the floor (thanks to the reflective foil). This significantly increases system efficiency and helps to distribute heat more evenly across the flooring surface.
This insulation offers excellent R-value, provides a water vapor barrier and is overall a much healthier alternative to fiberglass insulation. Class A/1 fire-rated.
