This is a high-quality and high-density, USA-made, EPS foam board insulation specifically designed for above and below-grade radiant floor heat projects with PEX tubing or heating wire embedded into the concrete slab. 2 lb/cu. ft density is tough enough to walk on and will not crumble.
For PEX radiant heat installations, PEX pipe can either be secured to the insulation board itself (using PEX foam board stapler & staples) or installed on top of the reinforcement layer (tied rebar or wire mesh) which rests on the insulation board.
Features:
- Made in the USA
- EPS (Expanded PolyStyrene) foam board is cheaper than XPS and outperforms it in long-term R-value retention
- 25 psi type, high density (2 lbs/cu. ft) slab insulation - ideal for concrete slabs with and without embedded PEX for radiant floor heating
- Suitable for above-grade and below-grade installations
Technical Specifications:
- Insulation Type: EPS (Expanded PolyStyrene)
- Individual Foam Board Size: 4ft wide x 8ft long x 1" thick (32 sqft)
- R-Value: R-5
- Nominal Density: 2.0 lbs/ft³
- Compressive Strength @ 10% deformation: 25 psi
- Manufactured to and Meets: ASTM D6817 (standard specs for rigid EPS foam board), C518 (R-Value), D1621 (compressive strength), C203 (flex strength), E96 (water vapor permeance), C272 (water absorption) and E84.
