What is the best way to calculate what size radiatior panel I should get
Helpful? Yes No
You would need to know how many BTU's are needed to heat 1 square ft in your area, given your insulation, heat loss and other factors. For example, in our area, a typical home would need ~50BTUs/sqft, so a 12x16 room would need 50*12*16=9,600 BTUs. Then you would look up the radiator BTU output at 180F (typical hot water boiler output temperature for baseboard/radiator systems). If your radiator of choice outputs 3,500BTU @180F, you would need at least 3 of these (3 x 3,500 = 10,500) to match a room with 9,600 BTU heat requirements.
