This is for PEX-AL. It works very well. I used it to splice a line connecting my heat exchanger to my outdoor boiler. The work took 10 min after draining the line. The short answer is no. First, they are not lead-free and are not approved for potable water use. Second, the internal diameters of PEX-AL-PEX and PEX tubing are different, so the fittings would not seal properly. If you lack the tools and need a quick PEX coupling, consider using push fittings instead.
